Operational since 1923, United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania is a voluntary organization, addressing addresses emerging social needs in Lackawanna County. Located in Scranton, Pa., the center offers direct and general advocacy services for youth, singles, families and senior citizens in combination with programs that foster independence and self-sufficiency. It provides a range of social, recreational, nutritional and educational programs for children, teens, families and senior citizens. The agency also undertakes child care for working families and organizes after school and evening programs for children and teens.
