The Bureau of Land Management is a federal agency under the Department of the Interior. It is responsible for the management of public land in the United States. The bureau balances recreational, commercial, scientific and cultural interests and works for the protection of renewable and nonrenewable resources, including range, timber, minerals, recreation, watershed, and fish and wildlife. The Bureau of Land Management maintains offices in Arizona, Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Utah.
