United States Telecom Association, located in Washington, D.C., is a trade association representing service providers and suppliers from the telecom industry. The telecom association's more than 1,200 member companies offer a wide range of services, including local exchange, long distance, wireless, Internet and cable television service. Its members provide local telephone service to various companies ranging from large telecom companies, such as Verizon, BellSouth and SBC, to companies with only a few hundred customers. The telecom association advocates for the industry's critical issues before the congress, regulators, courts and the media. It provides a common ground where telecom carriers of all sizes and businesses can advance the industry's concerns.
