Founded in 1921, United Way of Eastern Fairfield County offers solutions for various community problems, including hunger and homelessness. It is a local, nonprofit organization that is governed by volunteers representing the six-town area of Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford and Trumbull counties in Connecticut. The organization funds more than 40 programs and offers a range of health and human services to over 180,000 people each year. In addition, United Way of Eastern Fairfield County organizes a community campaign to support donor-selected nonprofit health, social service and educational organizations throughout Connecticut.
