Established in 1807, the University of Maryland School of Medicine specializes in medical education and biomedical research. Located in Baltimore, Md., the university operates through several departments, including anatomy, neurology, dermatology, emergency medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics and surgery. Its community outreach services include services in hospitals, clinics, homeless shelters and schools throughout Maryland.
