Department of Chemistry is a part of the University of Minnesota and is located in Minneapolis. The department conducts research activities in the areas of analytical, chemical, physical, inorganic and organic, computational, environmental and polymer chemistry. It offers a range of courses, such as analytical separations and chemical equilibria, introductory chemistry, chemical principles, advanced electroanalytical chemistry and organic chemistry. The department also offers other programs in chemical literature and information retrieval, introduction to thermodynamics and kinetics and mechanisms of chemical reactions. In addition, it offers classes in computational chemistry, introduction to quantum mechanics and spectroscopy, chemistry of plant materials and process analytical chemistry. Department of Chemistry organizes a range of educational events and seminars in order to provide additional information to students.
