The University of Southern Maine is a member of the University of Maine System and offers various baccalaureate, master and doctoral degree programs. The university offers educational classes in the areas of art, humanities, politics, health sciences, business, mass communications, science, engineering and technology. It also offers academic programs in studio arts, human biology, computer science, environmental safety and health, construction management, media writing and math. The university offers various athletic events that include basketball, field and ice hockey, softball, soccer, track and field, lacrosse, tennis and wrestling. Established in 1878, the University of Southern Maine has an annual enrollment of more than 11,000 students and is located in Portland, Maine.
