Charter One Bank is a multi-bank holding company with three active community banking subsidiaries and two service corporations. The banks provide a full line of retail and commercial banking services to individuals and businesses in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. Charter One banks include: Charter One Bank, GreatBank and National Association. Charter One Bank was founded in 1929. Its main office is located in Chicago Heights with branches located in Chicago Heights, Olympia Fields, and Frankfort, Ill. GreatBank, formerly Evanston Bank, was founded in 1914. Its main office is located in Evanston with branches located in Chicago and Skokie, Ill. GreatBank, a state bank, was formed by GreatBanc, Inc. in 1995. GreatBank has two locations in Algonquin and Cary, Ill. In addition to traditional banking services, the banks provide its own niche businesses, offering a variety of special services to its customers.
