The Alaska Science Center addresses the landscape and natural resources issues and natural hazards assessments in Alaska. The center serves through a variety of long-term data collection and monitoring and research and development systems. It provides data, information and research findings about the earth and its flora and fauna to federal, state and local resource managers. Headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, the Alaska Science Center studies the complex natural science phenomena to provide scientific products. The center is a part of the U.S. Geological Survey, also known as USGS, which is one of the largest water, earth and biological science and civilian mapping agencies.
