The SCORE Association, doing business as SCORE Counselors to America's Small Business, is a nonprofit association located in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1964, the association offers free and confidential advice to small business entrepreneurs. It has more than 350 chapters in locations throughout the United States. Its more than 10,000 volunteer counselors provide individual counseling and business workshops for aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners. The association s team of counselors works with entrepreneurs through various phases of the venture and generates and assesses ideas. Its team also prepares business plans and manages the operations and finances of the growing venture. SCORE Counselors to America's Small Business employs more than 15 people and is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
