The Radiology department, operated by the UVa Health System, offers MRI, CT scan, Ultrasound, X-ray, fluoroscopy and bone density testing solutions. The department performs routine and complex diagnostic film reading processes and procedures concerning the musculoskeletal system. It specializes in conducting the image-guided biopsies of the spine, head and neck. In addition, the Radiology department operates an outpatient imaging center. The department also conducts functional studies for liver, gallbladder, pancreas, thyroid, kidneys, lungs and bones. It has expertise in a range of imaging, biopsy and nonvascular interventional procedures that are performed on the chest, abdomen and pelvis. The Radiology department additionally provides fibroid embolization and radiofrequency ablation services.
