Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous dance experience to join a class?

No, our beginners' classes are designed to teach you the basics of Salsa On2 in an environment and at a pace that is most comfortable for you.

We invite students to visit the studio during a beginners' class to participate and gauge your comfort level with the instructor and/or pace of the class. Please contact the studio in advance so that we may recommend the ideal level class for you to join.

Do I need a partner?

Not at all. In fact, many of our students attend class without a partner. Our classes are designed for singles and couples. Classes are taught in group lesson format. During partner work exercises, we frequently rotate partners. This provides students with an opportunity to dance with many different people while reinforcing how you would dance (e.g. lead and follow) in social or club setting.

How large are the classes?

Class sizes can range from 15-30 students and may vary from month to month. However, the studio works to ensure that all students receive equal levels of attention during instruction regardless of the class size.

How long is each class?

Each class session is two hours in length. Classes are taught in two halves Shine instruction (individual footwork) and partner work instruction (coupled turn patterns). Classes will typically begin with a 10 minute warm up, 45 minutes of shine instruction and 1 hour of partner work instruction.
