Volunteers of America of Greater Baton Rouge is a human services organization that provides adoption, pregnancy, foster care and mental health services. It operates an alternative school that teaches academic, social and independent living skills to students and offers parenting programs and family strengthening classes for children, as well as their caretakers. Volunteers of America of Greater Baton Rouge also provides prevocational services to individuals with developmental disabilities. With a presence in Baton Rouge, La., the organization is a charter member of Volunteers of America, which is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization that offers a variety of human service programs, including housing and health care.
