Max I. Walker founded Max I. Walker, a cleaning company, in 1917. It primarily catered to upper-class, also referred to as carriage trade, customers with a main counter serving cash-and-carry customers. The company offers laundering services, such as dry cleaning, shirt laundering, drapery clean, feather pillow cleaning, household item cleaning, suede and leather cleaning, wedding gown cleaning, minor repairs and alterations and free storage. Four generations later, Max I. Walker remains family-owned and operated. What started as a route business has expanded to make house calls.
