Wanamaker Feed and Seed was established in 1963 by Ralph and Alethia Prange. Long before that, the building was constructed around the turn of the twentieth century as a meeting location for the Indiana Chapter of the Cayuaga Tribe #266, Improved Order of Redmen. Along the way, it became a feed mill, and then sat vacant before the Pranges reopened it as Wanamaker Feed and Seed. Then, in 1978, the Pranges sold the business to Jim Trimble, the current owner. Jim has spent the last 38 years growing the business from primarily livestock feed to carrying the variety of products Wanamaker Feed and Seed now offers. In July 2011, lightning caused a large fire. The old mill's walls and roof had to be rebuilt, but the original wood floors survived and still provide a rich piece of history to the building erected over 100 years ago.
