Founded in 1979, Washington PAVE is a nonprofit parent-directed organization that increases independence, empowerment and future opportunities through training, information, referral and support services. It administers the CORE Program, which provides training, assistance, and information on a variety of topics and issues about transition and adult services. The organization has served more than 1,000,000 individuals with disabilities. Washington PAVE also organizes the Specialized Training of Military Parents (STOMP), program, which provides support and training with emphasis on several issues through workshops, telephone consultations and presentations. The organization is located in Tacoma, Wash.
