The Surgical Weight Management Program includes a variety of educational, nutrition counseling and exercise activities for individuals. The program has been awarded the Center of Excellence designation by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS). The Surgical Weight Management Program is administered by Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast, which was formerly known as the NorthEast Medical Center. Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast is a more than 450-bed, regional, nonprofit medical facility. It manages a staff of over 4,200 employees who provides care services for patients in nearly 30 facilities located throughout North Carolina. Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast is a part of the Carolinas HealthCare System.
