Operational since 1972, YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago has been one of the largest licensed child care providers in Chicago. Programs provided include child care, affordable housing, street intervention, and sports and fitness, among others. It serves a range of family needs through its 21 fitness centers, four year-round resident camps, seven human service centers, five single room housing residences, six senior housing centers and one supportive housing for young adult males. Located in Chicago, Ill., the organization operates through its 65 locations and more than 100 extension sites.
