Based in Tucson, Ariz., YMCA of Southern Arizona provides a range of physical activities and educational programs, with a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Besides sports, recreational and swimming activities for all age groups, it offers child care, skill classes, summer camps, adaptive aquatics, teen leadership programs and much more. Providing an array of certificate courses with training for emergency preparedness, it also organizes various family events and group getaways. The organization conducts diabetes prevention and other social service programs, while its global service programs include sponsorship of the CASA YMCA house, a home for migrant youth in Mexico. A part of the Arizona State Alliance, YMCA of Southern Arizona supports volunteer and giving opportunities and provides financial assistance for its programs through its Strong Kids Campaign fund.
