LIZ uses various forms of biofeedback and facilitation techniques to assist the student in gaining greater spacial awareness. Motor control and muscular balance in the therapeutic yoga poses. ALL movements are slow. Supported and meditative to allow time for the student to gently ease into the areas of restriction and to integrate HIS/HER newfound awareness physically. Mentally and spiritually. Therapeutic modalities are also Incorporated to assist in range of motion and pain management including: soft and deep tissue mobilization. Joint mobilization. MYOFASCIAL release. Heat. ICE. Electrical stimulation and ULTRASOUND. THERAPEUTIC yoga evaluations incorporate the student’s medical history. Posture. Range of motion. Muscular strength. Balance. Gait. Functional deficits and neurological function to prescribe the most effective therapeutic yoga program to address HIS/HER specific needs. Breath work. Mediation and lifestyle modifications are also taught to encourage optimum health. ALL students are treated privately and exclusively by LIZ Montagna. The student is given a home exercise program. Complete with pictures and step by step instruction. The student is reevaluated every session to update the program to meet the Student’s changing needs and progress.

LIZ is a licensed physical therapist of 19 years, a registered yoga teacher through yoga alliance and the founder of yoga physical therapy. For the past 15 years. SHE has been integrating HER extensive knowledge and experience in the field of physical therapy with the therapeutic benefits of yoga to offer a more comprehensive and holistic approach to total patient care.
