Since 2001, ZIM has contributed substantially -- both financially and through the volunteer activities of its employees -- to the innovative After-School Programs for Children at Risk, a highly successful initiative created by The Israel Corporation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. This program provides a surrogate home environment, hot meals and homework assistance on a daily basis for children aged 6-17. During 2005, ZIM s contribution of money, equipment and volunteer staffing enabled this important program to expand from 3 to 10 clubs in Israel s Haifa region. Zim encourages its employees worldwide to deepen their involvement with, and contribute to, their respective communities by volunteering their time and energy to local social and environmental organizations.
